In February 2019, BADG hosted a multipart event, including an art show and panel conversation about the significance of building and protecting the legacies of Black artists and designers.

Meet the Designers

The event showcased the work and processes of Malene Barnett (ceramicist), Lisa Hunt (printmaker using gold leaf application), Karen Revis (printmaker), and Cey Adams (collagist).

Panelists included Cheryl Riley - Art Consultant, Cheryl Riley; Richard Beavers - Owner of Richard Beavers Gallery; Reed McMillan - Chair of Board of Directors, Cerfplus; and the conversation was moderated by Leyden Lewis - Interior Designer, Principal of Leyden Lewis Design Studio.
