“My experience at Haystack has had a massive impact on not only my practical skills as an artist and maker, but also my sense of where to go with my creative work, and even my understanding of where I fit into the rest of the creative world. And it would have been many years from now, if ever, that I could have done it without the BADG/Haystack fellowship. I'm not exaggerating when I say I'm infinitely grateful for the opportunity. It was career- and life-changing.”

“My time at Haystack was nothing short of a blessing. Thanks to the opportunity created by BADGuild, I was able to unplug in a way I rarely get to—surrounded by the sea, by craft, and by people who showed up with open hearts and hands ready to work. What struck me most was the extended community I found there: people of all ages and backgrounds, intergenerational and interdisciplinary, united by a genuine excitement for process, for mixing mediums, and for discovering what happens when we create together. I left with not just new ideas for my work, but with relationships that feel like anchors—fellow artists who will remain allies on this journey. Nothing about the residency felt forced. It moved in flow, allowing space for both solitude and connection, both making and witnessing. That balance reminded me that creation is not only about what we produce, but about how we hold space for one another along the way.”
